Measuring for a Belt
To determine the correct length for your new belt, the simplest and most reliable method is to measure one you already wear and enjoy.
Lay your preferred belt flat on a surface. Using a flexible tape measure—preferred over a rigid one, as many belts naturally develop gentle curves over time—measure precisely from the inner edge of the buckle (where the leather first folds around it) to the hole you most frequently use. This should give you the ideal circumference for comfortable wear.
Please bear in mind that the required length may differ depending on whether you prefer to wear the belt at your natural waist (typically higher and slightly shorter) or lower on your hips (often requiring additional length). The positioning of the holes should align with this choice to ensure both comfort and elegant proportion from the very first wear.
This will help ensure your Bouclier belt fits impeccably from the first wear.

My belts are most commonly crafted in 35 mm and 40 mm widths, though I’m always pleased to create them in narrower or wider dimensions to suit your preference. This can be arranged whenever I have a suitable buckle in my collection or can source one that meets our standards of quality and design—and, naturally, one that pleases you.
Importantly, for exceptionally long belt sizes, cutting a single continuous length of leather may occasionally present a challenge simply because of the size of the hides. Bouclier is particularly attuned to the difficulties larger individuals face in finding high-quality belts that fit properly. Every effort is made to accommodate your needs, drawing on specialized techniques developed to craft longer belts with unwavering quality.
